The JailHouse Gallery in Hardin is sponsored by the Big Horn Arts and Crafts Association, a nonprofit organization established in 1978. With a complete new look, the gallery serves the area of Big Horn County, including the Crow and Cheyenne Indian reservations. Sitting in the hot spot of "Custer Country", the gallery promotes the arts, not only to its local population but also to the many visitors it has each year. The Gallery features rotating exhibits in an exciting variety of art media, from Student Art forms, its Annual Area Artists Show, and the Mini Quilts and Block Contest, to excellent traveling exhibitions. Special classes, workshops and other educational and fun programs are provided through the Gallery. The JailHouse Gallery consists of the main viewing area, the Keyhole Gift Shop, and room for matting and shrink wrapping, plus classroom and meeting space. The Gallery is open to the public, year around, free of charge.
