| Member Area Map | PO Box 269 Chester, Montana 59522 Telephone: (406) 759-5652 This rural center in the tiny community of Chester (pop.963) serves the surrounding wheat ranchers and "whistle stop" residents of the northern farming district. Prompted in part by financial necessity and in part by a philosophic commitment, the Center's exhibition program for the upcoming season is almost exclusively Montana art. The Center promotes the arts and crafts of its local artists by providing them a place to show their work, to meet and visit with peers, and to view the creations of other artists. One local artist has raised the indigenous craft of wheat-weaving to a fine art and, due to the efforts of those at the center, has work available outside Montana. |
