TOURING EXHIBITIONS NEEDED

MAGDA is accepting Intent to Propose Exhibits for possible bookings for 2009, 2010, and 2011.  Potential sponsors/lenders will present their ideas/proposals to the MAGDA membership during its annual conference and booking session October 8 - 10 at Chico Hot Springs.  Potential sponsors/lenders will be allowed five minutes each to share exhibit images with all of the conference attendees, followed by a work session of small groups, where lenders will be able to present their full exhibition ideas/proposals to interested parties. 

This provides a great opportunity for potential lenders to be able to bring exhibit ideas/proposals to the conference and collaborate with members to try to put together a touring exhibit.  It enables lenders to create exhibits that can be tailored to a specific project and encourages peer-networked exhibition development as well as more streamlining with regard to the costs of the exhibit.  This also increases collaboration between lenders and exhibitors on publicity materials as well as educational programming, marketing, printing, and shared resources such as crating ideas and the possibility of borrowing crates other members have on hand. 

ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE SPONSORED BY AN ARTS ORGANIZATION

The sponsor organization is responsible for preparing the exhibit for tour, including professional crating, press packets, condition report book, shipping to first venue, labels, interpretive text, etc. All contracts and communications with MAGDA will be made with the sponsor only.

SALES

Should any work be sold while touring through MAGDA, proceeds will be divided as follows:  60% to the sponsor, 30% to MAGDA and 10% to the exhibiting Gallery
